Another Great Weekend for Conquest

A lot of great things are happening!

BJJ Conquest Fight Team Member Tony Dabbondanza
First, Congratulations to Tony Dabbondanza and Brian Ranck for their impressive victories at Operation Octagon XX. Tony did a great job neutralizing his opponents wrestling and was able to get the 2nd round TKO. This moves Tony to 3-0. He has a bright future at only 17 years old. Brian made his debut, and came out swinging from the bell. Once he settled in and got comfortable things started falling into place. Late in the 1st round Brian landed a body kick that rang throughout the arena and got the crowd on their feet. Following up with a punch that dropped his opponent Brian sank in a deep guillotine and was able to get the tapout. Both fighters made the Conquest Team very proud in their performance and professionalism.
Sunday was the first belt test held at the new facility, and we had a huge turn out. As you can see from the pictures several students advanced in rank to include both kids and adults. Congratulations to everyone who received a new belt or additional stripes. Your efforts don't go unnoticed and you continue to make all the instructors proud to teach you.

A special thanks to all the members from Team Vicente Junior who came out to support. Our team is what makes us strong.

We also want to give a shout out to out sponsors, Side to Side Fight Gear, Crofton Crossfit and Revgear.

Conquest Fights this weekend!!

Come check out Tony and Brian this weekend on Saturday July 28th at Operation Octagon XX as they represent BJJ Conquest in one of the biggest shows to hit the local area in years. Tony will try to add to his undefeated 2-0 record and Brian is making his debut. This is a "double header" show made up of both amature and pro fights, with over 30 fights on the card. It is starting early, doors open at 3PM, first fight starts at 4PM. It will be held at the Dulles Sportsplex just outside DC, so it is close, only about an hour away from the gym. Great Weekend for Conquest

Busy weekend for the team! First, Congratulations to Matt Brannon for putting on a great show and taking the WIN by knee bar on Saturday night. Matt made quick work of his opponent dominating the fight in all areas, truly demonstrating his well rounded skills. Matt is a welcome addition to the Conquest family and has made us all proud right out of the gates.

We also want to thank John Meyer for stopping by on Friday night for our MMA class and taking some great photos. If you check out our facebook account you will see some of the awesome shots John got. We're looking forward to having John back, and hope to work with him more and more in the future.

Finally, thanks to everyone who came out to Kyra and Lexi's 2nd birthday party. The gym was temporarily turned into a Minnie Mouse playhouse as we had over a hundred people join us for the festivities. Good times were had by all and both the girls and their families are very thankful for all the gifts, food, and drink brought by friends and family.

Best wishes to all those dealing with issues from the bad storms this weekend. Let us know if anyone needs anything.

Looking forward to a great week of training and Independence Day celebrations.

It should be a good show, and we want to welcome Matt to the team with all the support we can. Good luck to him, see the rest of you there.
